Uyghurs–The repression of Muslims in China
The home of around ten million Uyghurs in China has become an almost unprecedented surveillance state. Every day they experience the feeling of being trapped in their own country. They are tortured both mentally and physically in re-education camps and cannot live in freedom. These people are subjected to daily physical and mental abuse. Families are separated, women are abused, children are beaten and whipped. China's assimilation policy leads to the forced detention of citizens based solely on their culture and religion. Why is no one talking about this? That was the question that prompted me to start this project. My goal is to raise awareness through this poster series and to encourage the cohesion of all people in order to counter this movement.
